Dual Socket Enterprise Tower
Dell PowerEdge T560 Server
Dual Socket Tower · Enterprise Class
Dell PowerEdge T560 Server brings genuine dual-socket enterprise compute to the tower form factor — delivering workstation-grade power for engineering, scientific, and creative professionals who cannot be constrained by thin client limitations. With enterprise-class PCIe expansion, large memory capacity, and support for high-performance GPU cards, it serves as both a personal compute powerhouse and a shared departmental server. iDRAC9 management ensures IT teams can remotely manage it just like any rack asset in the data center.

Tower Server Dell PowerEdge T560 for Virtualization, Databases, and Edge AI
Dell PowerEdge T560 is a powerful 2-socket enterprise-class server in a Tower (pedestal) form factor, convertible to a standard server rack (5U). The platform is designed for large and medium-sized businesses, remote and branch offices (ROBO), and edge deployments. It targets a wide range of demanding workloads: local virtualization, mid-range databases (SQL, Oracle), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), ERP/CRM systems, as well as local AI inference and machine learning. The server is built on a PCIe Gen 5.0 bus, DDR5 memory, and supports high-density GPU accelerators.
Thanks to its Tower form factor and low idle noise, the T560 can be deployed directly in office spaces without a dedicated server room. This makes it the optimal choice for branches and companies that cannot build a full data center but require enterprise-class performance.
Use Cases
The Dell PowerEdge T560 is the optimal solution for organizations requiring:
- Local virtualization in remote and branch offices (ROBO)
- Mid-range databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
- Enterprise-scale ERP and CRM systems
- Local AI inference and machine learning (Edge AI)
- File services and local data storage
Compute Subsystem
The server supports one or two 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Sapphire Rapids) or 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Emerald Rapids) processors. CPUs with TDP up to 250 W and up to 64 cores per socket (a total of up to 128 cores per server) are supported. Built-in Intel hardware accelerators (AMX, DSA, QAT) are supported, speeding up AI inference, encryption, and data processing workloads.
Memory
The server provides 16 DIMM slots (8 per socket) for DDR5 ECC RDIMM server memory. Maximum memory capacity is 1 TB at speeds up to 4800 MT/s or up to 5600 MT/s (depending on processor generation and configuration). Memory Mirroring and Memory Sparing modes are supported for enhanced fault tolerance.
Graphics Accelerators (GPU)
The chassis supports up to 2 double-wide GPUs up to 300 W each (e.g., NVIDIA A100 or H100) or up to 6 compact single-wide cards at 75 W each (such as NVIDIA L4). This turns the server into a quiet, powerful office AI station: local inference, video analytics, transcoding, and GPU-accelerated VDI — without sending data to the cloud.
Storage Subsystem
The modular backplane architecture supports hot-swap drives in the following configurations:
- Up to 24 × 2.5″ (SFF) SAS/SATA/NVMe SSDs
- Up to 12 × 3.5″ (LFF) SAS/SATA (HDD/SSD) drives for high-capacity local storage
- OS Boot: the BOSS-N1 module with two M.2 NVMe drives and hardware RAID 1 support is used for secure OS deployment
Interfaces and Expansion
The server provides up to 8 PCIe slots, of which up to 5 support PCIe Gen5, plus a dedicated OCP 3.0 network slot. This allows flexible network infrastructure scaling without sacrificing standard expansion slots: simultaneously install GPU accelerators, RAID controllers, and high-speed network adapters.
Management, Reliability, and Security
- Remote Management. Monitoring, inventory, and updates are handled by the embedded iDRAC9 lifecycle controller, providing full remote access (KVM-over-IP) regardless of OS state. Integration with Dell OpenManage and Redfish API is supported.
- Power and Cooling. The server is equipped with two redundant hot-swap power supplies rated from 600 W to 2400 W with Platinum or Titanium efficiency certification. Cooling is provided by an array of redundant fans. When deployed in an office, the server features extremely low idle noise.
- Security. The integrated cybersecurity suite includes a TPM 2.0 crypto chip, Silicon Root of Trust technology for firmware authenticity verification, Firmware Resiliency protection against unauthorized firmware modification, and a chassis intrusion sensor.
