Huawei OceanStor Dorado 3000 is a high-performance entry-level All-Flash storage system belonging to the flagship Huawei OceanStor Dorado line. Hardware Architecture and Performance

• Controller unit. The base 2U chassis is equipped with a dual-controller enclosure operating in Active-Active mode. The architecture provides full symmetry: both controllers simultaneously process I/O to logical volumes (LUNs), eliminating path-switch delays. The cluster scales horizontally (Scale-Out) up to 16 controllers.
• Cache capacity. Depending on generation and part number, the cache of a single 2U chassis is 128 GB, 192 GB, or 256 GB, and total cluster cache can reach 1536 GB. The cache is hardware-protected by supercapacitors and Flash memory modules against data loss during power failure.
• Extremely low latency. FlashLink intelligent algorithms optimize processor and SSD collaboration, delivering stable latency of just 0.05 ms for V6 systems and revolutionary 0.03 ms (30 µs) for the new V7 generation. SCM (Storage Class Memory) modules are supported for accelerating hot data.

Storage Subsystem and Chassis Types

The system is available in two front-panel backplane variants (25 drives each):

• NVMe version. Designed for building end-to-end ultra-fast arrays. Supports proprietary flat Palm-sized NVMe SSDs up to 30.72 TB.
• SAS version. A more affordable All-Flash array variant. Supports standard 2.5″ SAS SSDs up to 7.68 TB.
• Scalability. With external expansion drive enclosures (SAS or high-speed enclosures with SmartIO/RDMA interconnect), the Dorado 3000 can combine up to 1200 SSD drives within a single pool.
